Artist, activist, and scholar, Dylan Miner will discuss his current GRAM exhibition Water is Sacred // Trees are Relatives and his ongoing investigation into important issues surrounding the past, present, and future of the Great Lakes watershed and region. Currently Director of American Indian and Indigenous Studies and Associate Professor in Michigan State University’s Residential College in the Arts and Humanities, Miner is a founding member of the artists’ collective Justseeds. “With my work at the Grand Rapids Art Museum,” Miner says, “I think about the relationship between the spirit and history of a place, and the way that these are implicated in the worlds we’re living in now.”

This event is made possible thanks to the generous support of Barnes & Thornburg LLP.
