View the Art in Bloom floral designs at their freshest and meet the talented participating floral designers. Enjoy delicious appetizers in the Cook Auditorium, cash bar available. Those attending the VIP reception will receive a complimentary admission to the James Lutke Demonstration on Saturday.

Saturday All Day with the Arts

It may still be chilly outside but spring has sprung in the Education Center, Betz Studio. Study the flowing lines of Ellsworth Kelly’s Plant Lithographs and the unique shapes of nature to create a botanical print using a fun new printing technique.

Beth Charles Acrylic Painting Class
9:00 am – 12:30 pm Education Center, Crane Studio, Supplies and a boxed lunch provided.

Reserve your place for an amazing class to learn the art of floral painting from Beth Charles of Holland, Michigan. Beth is a 1987 cum laude graduate of the University of Michigan, having earned her Bachelors of Fine Arts with concentrations in painting, drawing, and illustration. Her work Drama Queens was the 2011 Tulip Time Festival poster contest winning work.

Special Guest James Lutke Floral Demonstration

As an artist and designer, James Lutke creates unique artwork integrating materials and textures from nature and floral materials to reflect his love of the outdoors. Working in a multitude of mediums, James is a vital part of the successful Nature’s Creative Edge exhibitions. In 2010, James was honored to create the White House Christmas decorations and was featured on the Home and Garden television network’s program: A White House Christmas!
