Special Update on Calder Jewelry! balletmore dance studio presents “mobile dance”
The Grand Rapids Art Museum is partnering with balletmore dance studio to bring you a one of a kind experience of dance, music, and art!
On Saturday February 27th at 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm balletmore dance students and pre-professionals will perform original choreography inspired by the master modern artist, Alexander Calder.
This contemporary ballet performance will focus on what Alexander Calder and children know best, that the first steps in creating a piece of art include a sense of humor, curiosity, & an innovative spirit. Dancers will bend, twist, pirouette & leap across the stage to a wide range of music from Bach to David Byrne. Examining Calder themes such as abstraction, grace, energy, & balance, balletmore dancers will delightfully explore the creative wonder that is Calder.
