Each month focuses on a new theme inspired by the exceptional art found in our permanent collection and special exhibitions. All of the activities and special programming bring families together by having them consider these engaging topics. Learn something new together and share an unforgettable experience!
Fantastic Underground Voyage
Explore the twists and turns of Gabor Peterdi’s abstract representation of nature underground in Seed and Rock, 1953. Bring the world that exists underneath the soil to life with color and imagination using printmaking and illustration techniques downstairs in GRAMStudio.
Shadowing the Masters
Imagine a landscape that fits in your pocket! Inspired by the exquisite views and perspectives from Masterpieces of American Landscape Painting, families will assemble small shadow boxes with illustrations of their favorite places to see and visit.
Have extra candy tins or small boxes lying around? We’d love to take them off your hands for this shadow box project! Please drop off any clean, empty tins or boxes at the front desk, ATTN: Katie Williams. Thank you!
