Free & Reduced Admission Programs
Meijer Free Tuesdays and Meijer Free Thursday Nights are made possible by The Meijer Foundation. This gift supports free general admission for the public from 12 – 5 pm each Tuesday and free general admission Thursday Nights from 5 – 8 pm.
In partnership with Museums for All, GRAM offers free general admission to EBT cardholders and up to 3 guests. Please present your EBT card at the front desk to receive this offer.
GRAM is proud to be a Blue Star Museum and offers free general admission to active duty military personnel and their family year-round.
KCAD students and GRCC students and faculty receive free general admission to GRAM year-round. Students from any school or university receive discounted general admission when they present their active student ID at the Museum’s front desk. GRCC Students can present their Raider Card and a GoSeeGR! voucher to receive this benefit. Vouchers are available for pickup in the Student Life Office at GRCC.
Museum visitors who present an active Bank of America, Merrill, or Bank of America Private Bank branded debit or credit card, or proof of employment receive free general admission on the first full weekend of each month.
Know Before You Go
- Check backpacks, large bags, long umbrellas, and balloons in at the front desk.
- Walk to enjoy the artwork. Running and jumping are not allowed in the galleries.
- Share your visit on social media! Geotag or hashtag #grandrapidsartmuseum on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
- Check for signs near artwork for instructions on artwork which may or may not be photographed. If you have any questions, please ask a Visitor Services associate.
- Use flash in the galleries when photographing.
- Touch the art with your hands or other objects.
- Consume food, beverages, candy or gum in the galleries.
- Smoke on the premises.
- Have pens in the galleries. If you need a writing utensil, pencils are available at the front desk.
GRAM invites guests to bring their own meals to enjoy on the outdoor dining terrace or inside in the Member Lounge. Monroe Center and the surrounding area offers a vast array of local cuisine and wonderful restaurants.
From young children to older adults there is something for everyone at GRAM!
GRAM hosts Drop-in Studio every Saturday afternoon from 11 am to 3 pm. Drop in during that time to participate in art making activities click here for more information about upcoming projects. Drop-in Studio is included in the price of general admission. Explore art interactives during open hours in the Creative Learning Center.
Backpacks and large bags are not permitted in the galleries. GRAM offers a complimentary coat and bag check at the front desk for guests to store their belongings while visiting.

GRAM offers many ways for groups of 10 or more to experience the Museum’s collections and stunning exhibitions. Choose from either a self-guided experience or a guided tour led by one of our highly dedicated and knowledgeable docents. Tours can be adjusted for any age level. Groups can also choose to add optional activities to their visit such as artmaking workshops and a space to eat lunch, based on availability. Groups receive discounted group general admission.
GRAM encourages personal use photography during your visit. To protect the artwork and copyright adherence, we have a few guidelines in place for visitors. Photography is not permitted in areas designated as No Photography Zones, and flash photography and tripods are never allowed. For more information, view our Photography Policy below.
Accessibility
GRAM is committed to connecting visitors with all abilities to the world of art through a wide variety of accessible services. All public areas of GRAM are wheelchair accessible. Elevators and ramps allow mobility to all floors and public areas of the Museum.

Restrooms
All GRAM restrooms are wheelchair accessible. Restrooms with changing tables are located on the first-floor lobby and Mezzanine level.
Wheelchairs, Mobility Devices, and Walkers
- GRAM welcomes walkers, wheelchairs (manual and electric), and scooters.
- All public entrances are wheelchair accessible with power assist doors.
- The Museum’s front entrance is recommended for wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility devices. There is a sidewalk ramp on Monroe Center, between Rosa Parks Circle and GRAM for a convenient drop-off location. Visitors can utilize the wheelchair-accessible building ramp beside the WOOD-TV studio to reach the Museum’s front doors.
- To access the Creative Learning Center, we recommend using the main entrance ramp and entering from the main Lobby.
- Wheelchairs are available free of charge on a first come, first served basis and without reservations at the Visitor Services Desk.
Service Animals
GRAM welcomes service animals. GRAM adheres to the American Disabilities Act Service Animal Requirements. Visit adata.org to view the most recent revised ADA Service Animal Requirements.
Auditorium and Gallery Seating
GRAM’s auditorium offers flexible seating arrangements and plenty of room for wheelchairs and other accommodations. Please feel free to notify Visitor Services of any special needs prior to attending lectures and presentations. Permanent seating is available in most galleries. Portable gallery stools are available; please ask Visitor Services for assistance.
Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs)
Audio in the auditorium is T‑Coil compatible. Other assisted hearing devices are available for lectures, presentations, and films in the auditorium. Assisted hearing devices are free of charge and available on a first come, first served basis and without reservations.

While GRAM does not have private parking available, many public parking lots are located directly adjacent to the Museum. Various city lots do offer the first hour of parking free, and the closest one is the Monroe Center Parking Ramp, located on the corner of Louis Street and Ionia. We are glad to validate parking for GRAM members at the Dual Level or above who park in the Monroe Center Parking Ramp connected to Leo’s. Metered parking is located throughout downtown and near GRAM.
