Following today’s extension of the three-week order by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), GRAM will be canceling all in-person programming through Sunday, Dec 20. Refunds will be issued for current registrants. We don’t plan to reschedule dates at this time but will keep our communication channels updated with any changes. Thank you for understanding as we work to keep our staff, guests, and community safe.

The Grand Rapids Art Museum’s highest priority is the safety of our employees and guests. Today we received news that two of our employees have tested positive for COVID-19. GRAM visitors and staff have strictly followed important health precautions including mask-wearing, social distancing, temperature checks, and health screens. Both employees had very mild symptoms and have not been to work since their positive results. We’re happy to report they’re doing well and isolating at home. From our internal contract tracing, at this point in time, we believe these are independent cases and have no reason to believe the exposure came from within the Museum.
Out of an abundance of caution, GRAM will be closed Saturday, November 14 for deep cleaning and sanitization of the building. Scheduled programming will be canceled, and refunds will be issued for registrants. We are working closely with the Kent County Health Department and will continue to follow their guidelines. The affected employees will not return to work until cleared by the health department. Currently, we plan to reopen the Museum to the public on Tuesday, November 17.
Additionally, following the recent order by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), the Museum will be canceling all in-person programming from Tues, Nov 17 – Tuesday, Dec 8. Refunds will be issued for any registrants.
If you believe you may have been exposed to COVID-19, please follow the recommended guidelines of the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Thank you for your support, and we appreciate those who are doing their part to help stop the spread of the coronavirus in our community.
