I recently changed my name; how can I change this on my membership?
If you would like your member cards, letters, and newsletters to reflect a new name, contact the Membership Office at email@example.com or 616.831.2912, and our team will update your information.
How do I register for member-only events?
To receive discounts on programs and to register for members-only events create an account online with the email associated with your membership as your username online at artmuseumgr.org/register. Can’t remember the email you used? Contact Visitor Services at firstname.lastname@example.org or 616.831.1000.
What are reciprocal memberships?
Reciprocal memberships are a category of membership that allow reciprocal benefits at more than 1,000 arts and culture institutions across North America. GRAM memberships of over $100 in value receive these benefits.
GRAM is a member of North American Reciprocal Museum (NARM), Reciprocal Organization of Associated Museums (ROAM), and Michigan Reciprocal Museums.
How do I redeem parking vouchers?
One-hour parking vouchers are available at the Front Desk during your visit to the Museum. Vouchers are for City of Grand Rapids parking ramps only. The number of parking vouchers received varies by level.
I’m an active member and I’m having troubling registering for an event. What do I do?
This is likely due to an error in our database. Contact Visitor Services at 616.831.1000 and our team will fix the error and register you for your desired event.
Can I be featured on GRAM’s social media as part of the #GRAMMember campaign?
Yes! Contact the Membership Office at email@example.com with the name of the GRAM Member you are nominating and why. We will be in touch, and may schedule a time for the member to come to the Museum for a portrait. Be sure to follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter to see your feature.
Are memberships refundable or transferable?
Memberships are non-refundable or cannot be transferred.
Will GRAM extend my membership due to the temporary closure?
We want to thank you for your commitment to supporting the arts during GRAM’s temporary closure by extending your membership for an additional two months. Our team will automatically add the extended time to your expiration date. There’s no need for a new physical card, your digital membership card will reflect the correct date.
This offer is extended to every membership active as of 3/13/2020 and new members who join throughout the duration of the closure. If you have any additional questions, contact the Membership Office at 616.831.2912 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Digital Membership Cards
How will I use my digital membership card?
Your digital membership card is unique to your membership and displays your name, membership level, expiration date, and a barcode for us to scan. Simply show your digital membership card to Visitor Services at the Front Desk or The Museum Store to take advantage of your member benefits.
How do I receive my digital membership card?
Digital membership cards are sent to the primary email address of every active member. You will need to open this email on your mobile device and follow the instructions to download the card. The card will automatically be stored in your IPhone’s wallet app.
Android users may need to install Wallet Passes from the Play Store prior to downloading your card.
How do I add the membership card to my iPhone?
Access the email from your smartphone and click the “Download” button, then click “Add to Wallet” and “Add.” The card will automatically go to your iPhone’s Apple Wallet. It can be accessed in Wallet at any time.
How do I add the membership card to my Android phone?
Android users need to download Wallet Passes from Google Play. After you have the app, access the email from your smartphone and click “Download” in the membership email, and the card will automatically go to your Wallet Passes app, where it can be accessed at any time.
Will my digital card update when I renew my membership?
Yes! The digital card will automatically update when your membership information changes. For example, your expiration date and membership level will automatically update the next time you renew or upgrade your membership. This means that you only have to download the card once.
I’d prefer not to use this digital membership card, what should I do?
If you prefer a physical card, you can opt-in for a free card when you renew or join online, by mail, phone, or in person. If you’d like to receive a physical card in the middle of your membership term, contact the Membership Office at 616.831.2912 or email@example.com.
I don’t have a mobile phone, what can I do?
You can opt-in to a free physical card when you renew or join online, by mail, phone, or in person.
My name is spelled wrong/membership level is incorrect on my digital card, what should I do?
Please contact the Membership Office at 616.831.2912 or firstname.lastname@example.org and we will fix our error.
I am not sure I received my digital card. Can you send it again?
Yes! Please contact the Membership Office at 616.831.2912, and we can resend the email for you to download and enjoy your digital membership card. You may also want to check the Junk, Spam, and Unwanted folders of your email.
Will my partner also receive a digital membership card?
For memberships with more than one member, each member will receive a unique digital membership card via email. If a membership with two members has only one email address on record, then both digital membership cards will be sent to the primary email address. Members can then forward the email to ensure that their partner receives their digital membership card.
I downloaded my card, but I can’t find it, what should I do?
If you have an iPhone, the card will automatically download to Apple Wallet. Check the app for your new card. If you have an Android, you’ll need to download Wallet Passes from the Play Store prior to downloading the card.
How will my reciprocal benefits work when visiting other museums?
Digital membership cards for memberships with reciprocal benefits display NARM, ROAM, and Michigan Reciprocal Museum banners. Simply show your digital membership card at participating museums to receive free or reduced admission.
Can I update the email address(es) associated with my membership?
Yes! Please contact the Membership Office at 616.831.2912 or email@example.com to update your information. Please also review and update your contact information as you renew your membership.
How long does it take to receive my membership cards?
Here at the Grand Rapids Art Museum we strive to bring you the best customer service possible. You may begin using your membership immediately after purchase and should expect to receive your new digital membership card(s) within a week of joining or renewing. If you opted into a physical card, you can expect your card(s) within three weeks of joining. You may always visit without your card(s). Upon your arrival, check in with Visitor Services with a valid ID.
I lost my physical membership cards, what should I do?
Request a new card by contacting Membership at firstname.lastname@example.org or 616.831.2912. Your membership is always active, and you enjoy free admission and member benefits with a valid form of ID at the Museum’s Front Desk.
