Gallery Chat: Uncharted Ways Through

Saturday, Mar 16, 2024
1:00 pm — 2:30 pm

Drop in and chat with a Museum docent about the works of art on view at GRAM. Docents will be available throughout the galleries, and guests can stop by to chat with them about the work and artist. This is a fantastic opportunity for art lovers of all ages to explore the exhibitions and permanent collection.

Registration is not required. Signage will be in the Lobby with the location of the docent.

Uncharted Ways Through: Maps, Land, and the Image
Artists have long used maps in their practice to convey how their lived experiences – past and present – are understood as having taken place within a specific location. Some artists create maps to imagine entirely new worlds, while others engage in the actual manipulation of land to draw attention to issues of space, placeness, and to expand the modernist conception of the boundaries of art. Discuss these ideas and more with the Docent in the exhibition during this Gallery Chat!
