General Guided Tours
GRAM offers many different ways for groups of 8 people or more to experience the Museum’s collections and stunning exhibitions. Choose from either a self-guided experience or a guided tour led by one of our highly dedicated and knowledgeable docents.
Tours can be adjusted for any age level. Groups can also choose to add optional activities to their visit such as art-making workshops and a space to eat lunch, based on availability. Groups receive discounted group admission.

Scheduling Your Group
Tours last approximately one hour and an optional workshop runs for 45 minutes. These durations can be adjusted to better fit your group’s need upon request.
All tours and workshops can be scheduled during regular museum hours. For a more private experience, tours can be scheduled during hours the museum is closed for an additional security fee.
Please fill out the tour inquiry form at least 4 weeks before your desired tour date, and a staff member will be in touch with you shortly.
Group transportation to the museum is available through a variety of providers including GOGO Charters, National Charter Bus, and Detroit Charter Bus Company.
If your group is unable to visit the Museum in person, virtual tours are available to explore GRAM remotely.
Using Zoom or Microsoft Teams, follow along with a GRAM Docent on a tour through the galleries. Group leaders can choose the theme for the tour, which can highlight a specific exhibition, type of artwork, or a topic of interest for the group. Virtual tour guests can ask questions and share their comments throughout the tour to create an interactive experience.
Virtual tours can accommodate groups of 2 or more people and are a flat fee of $50 for an hour tour.
