Founded in 2001 by John O’Neill, Conduit is a full-service design studio located in the flourishing art and design community of downtown Grand Rapids. Focusing extensively on design and cultural communities, Conduit’s depth of experience in both branding and interactive projects sets their work apart from other design firms in town. They thrive in their focus on projects where design is material to the brand. Take a look at the refreshed GRAM visual identity that debuted this past summer — that was all Conduit’s doing!
When measured, Conduit’s impact on our community at large is astounding. Through Conduit’s Studio Grant program, they donate $100,000 in design services to the community each year, including their recent gift to GRAM this past year. This donation featured Current, a software package that Conduit has developed and is prototyping with the GRAM. It displays visitors’ posts from Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter in real time and has a calendar of current and future events happening at the Museum to keep our visitors up-to-date. Previous Studio Grant recipients include TEDxKabul and the Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts.So, what can we look forward to from Conduit Studio in the year to come? At present, they are in the process of publicly launching Current, which will soon be available for purchase and download from Conduit’s website.
