Program Details
This all day, specialized program designed for high school students features participatory gallery experiences and student-directed exploration throughout the museum and in GRAM Studio.
Join GRAM docents in the galleries and explore the complexities of identity through a variety of artists and art objects, utilizing thinking routines to examine how art can be a tool for representation, expression, and deeper understanding. Students are empowered to investigate and discuss multiple perspectives and interpretations, see themselves reflected in art, and engage new world views.
In the Expressive Arts Studio, students will respond to what they saw and experienced in the galleries and give their own voice to powerful ideas through the art they choose to create.
The studio session is designed to be open-ended, allowing students to move beyond step-by-step instructions and rules so that they can explore, experiment, and engage with art in ways that feel authentic and personally meaningful to them.
