Join Julie Walser, Registrar at GRAM, and Jessica Bratt, Assistant Director at Grand Rapids Public Library, for a discussion of the 1937 novel Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston. The book, cited by artist Carrie Mae Weems as one of her top ten favorites, is a classic of the Harlem Renaissance and one of the most important works of twentieth-century American literature.
