Join GRAM for a day of discovery filled with hands-on art activities for guests of all ages! This Discovery Day will celebrate the art and creativity of design, themed around two of GRAM’s exhibitions Underneath Everything: Humility and Grandeur in Contemporary Ceramics and Brick by Brick: The Creative Art of LEGO®.
Activities are available from 10 am — 3 pm and are designed for children and adults of all ages:
- Art Making Projects — Make your own texture tray, and participate in a collaborative clay sculpture project!
- Gallery Chats with Docents (with prizes!)
- Scavenger Hunt (with prizes!)
- Discovery Gallery Exploration
- Beautiful LEGO® Cities — Bricks & Minifigs Grand Rapids will lead you through a LEGO® design activity to build a miniature city together! Design a city block that is beautiful as well as useful and learn to think like an urban designer. What does a good city need? What does a beautiful city look like? What’s the best city block according to your imagination? Each participant can build a 16 x 16 city block that will be added to our in-progress city as we explore form, function, and infrastructure. Your city blocks will have the opportunity to be on display at Bricks & Minifigs Grand Rapids in the future!
All activities are included with museum admission, and registration is not required.
