Drop-In Studio: Tartan Weaving

Join Drop-in Studio and weave your own tartan fabric in yarn as you explore the rich symbolism and meaning of this fabric design. Traditionally made in wool, tartan is a plaid-patterned fabric closely associated with the Scottish Highlands. Fashion designer, Lee Alexander McQueen frequently used tartan to reference his own Scottish heritage and the political history of Scotland in his work. 

Drop-in Studio sessions occur every Saturday from 11 am — 3 pm, and are included with general Museum admission.
