PNC Family Day: Characters Imagined
Saturday, Oct 29, 2022
10:00 am — 4:00 pm
Join GRAM for a day filled with special activities for families of all ages! To celebrate The Jim Henson Exhibition: Imagination Unlimited, activities will be themed around creating characters, stories, and worlds from your imagination.
The day’s activities are designed for children and adults of all ages, including:
- Wimee and Friends Puppet Show Performance (1:00 pm) – Join Wimee and friends for fun, interactive, musical word play inspired by imagination, exploration, and creativity! Wimee, a lovable robot puppet, is from the Kent District Library and Wimage produced show Wimee’s Words, as seen on PBS.
- Gallery Chats with Docents – Stop by specific artworks in our permanent collection to chat with a docent and learn more about the art and artists on view.
- Art Making Project — Create your own miniature character in GRAM Studio using modeling clay, pipe cleaners, and feathers to bring your creation to life.
- Scavenger Hunt – Families will collect character clues to earn a special prize as they explore Imagination Unlimited through an I‑Spy style scavenger hunt across the galleries.
- Story Time – Families can enjoy some quiet time as Museum volunteers read Muppet stories aloud. Story time will take place in the Auditorium every 30 minutes, along with an interactive game inspired by the books.
- Community Character Mural – Guests can design a one-of-a-kind character and add it to the Muppet Show mural. Stop by throughout the event to see all of the unique characters created.
- Come to the event dressed up in your favorite Jim Henson character gear for the chance to win a GRAM Family Membership! Winners will be chosen following each PNC Family Day event.
All activities are included with general admission, and registration is not required. Thanks to the generosity of PNC Bank, every member of your family will receive $2 off your general admission ticket!
Please note: General admission does not include entrance to the Imagination Unlimited exhibition.
Please note: Program safety measures include face covering recommendations, regular sanitization and cleaning, and restricting the sharing of tools/materials among participants. Masks will be available for those who do not have one.
