During gallery chats, drop into the galleries and chat with a GRAM docent about the works of art on view. Docents will be available near a specific artwork, and guests can stop by to chat with them about the work and artist. This is a fantastic opportunity for art lovers of all ages to explore the exhibitions and permanent collection.
Artists have long used maps in their practice to convey how their lived experiences – past and present – are understood as having taken place within a specific location. Some artists create maps to imagine entirely new worlds, while others engage in the actual manipulation of land to draw attention to issues of space, placeness, and to expand the modernist conception of the boundaries of art. Discuss these ideas and more during this Gallery Chat!
