Saturday Studio Session: Recycled Paper Kusudama

Saturday, Aug 12, 2023
10:30 am — 12:30 pm

Join us at Saturday Studio Sessions for unique and creative artmaking workshops influenced by a range of art practices. During the session, you’ll be guided through concept and material exploration. Through hands-on projects and gallery tours, participants will develop a deeper understanding of art and personal expression.

Exploring the ambitions and artifacts of contemporary life via digital art, GRAM’s summer exhibition Message from Our Planet seeks to create a digital time capsule of everyday life. Create a microcapsule of your own life as a Kusudama. Learn more about this ancient precursor to modular origami as you create a visual archive of your life. Guests are encouraged to bring their own papers– old journal pages, favorite books, maps, even unwanted mail – to repurpose the paper trail of your existence into a one-of-a-kind kusudama.
