Small Stabile surrounded by wire and clay as one balancing element is about to be placed atop the sculpture.

Saturday Studio Session: Stabiles

Saturday, May 27, 2023
10:30 am — 12:30 pm

Join us at Saturday Studio Sessions for unique and creative artmaking workshops influenced by a range of art practices. During the session, you’ll be guided through concept and material exploration. Through hands-on projects and gallery tours, participants will develop a deeper understanding of art and personal expression.

Learn to create an Alexander Calder-inspired stabile in GRAM Studio! Create your own category-defying sculpture like Calder’s The Blunt-Tailed Dog—complete with movable balancing parts — using air dry clay, metal, and wood.

Please note: Program safety measures include face covering recommendations, regular sanitization and cleaning, and restricting the sharing of tools/materials among participants. Masks will be available for those who do not have one.
