About the Exhibition

The 15 portraits represented in Heroes: Now & Then were created by 12 Detroit-based youth artists working for Mint Artists Guild during summer 2020. In addition to the Hero portraits, the artists created paintings, coloring pages, community art projects, and digital artwork throughout the summer.

The show represents a diverse array of heroes, ranging from real-life and imaginary figures to famously courageous individuals and everyday heroes who pave the way for all of us.
