League of Women Voters: Go Vote Poster Contest
The League of Women Voters of the Greater Grand Rapids Area (LWVGGRA), a nonpartisan organization with a 106-year history, invited high school students in Kent County to submit original artwork to raise awareness and celebrate our citizens’ ability to vote and shape our democracy.
About the Exhibition
This exhibition features the top three entries, determined by a panel of League of Women Voters members and arts leaders from the community. Judges include Professor of Studio Art at Grand Valley State, Brett Colley, Professor of Art Education at Grand Valley State University, Hsiao-Ping Chen, and Architect at Progress Companies, Jim Horman.
The League of Women Voters is a non-profit organization with a history of promoting informed voter participation and enhanced citizen engagement. With these goals in mind, LWVGGRA members have been active in our community, conducting voter registration drives and providing voter education opportunities. The League’s focus on young and potential voters inspired this contest and ties in with the ultimate LWV goal of making democracy work.
