May 10, 2022 — Jun 3, 2022
Monroe Center Creativity Space

West Michigan Center for Arts + Technology (WMCAT), in collaboration with the Grand Rapids Art Museum, presents Palettes Past.

Working with GRAM’s Learning + Creativity and Curatorial departments, teen artists from WMCAT’s Arts + Tech Intro to Fashion and Advanced Fashion programs have created a collection inspired by works from GRAM’s Permanent Collection.

The Intro to Fashion collection focuses on high fashion day and evening wear, application, and embroidery. The Advanced Fashion collection focuses on avant-garde outfits, historical silhouettes of the period the artwork was created, use of color, and repurposing materials.

WMCAT is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide a culture of opportunity for people to create social and economic progress in their lives and community. WMCAT’s Teen Arts + Tech Program engages high school students through after-school and summer programming in the visual and media arts to build creative confidence, foster goal-setting, and inspire contribution to their communities.
