Thursday nights are better on the Terrace. Every Thursday this summer, the Grand Rapids Art Museum opens its doors and outdoor terrace for a free evening of art, music, food, and community.
Whether you're celebrating the end of the week, making plans with friends, or just in need of a good evening out — Thursdays on the Terrace is the perfect summer evening.
Come for the art. Stay for everything else.
What to Expect
Each Thursday features either a live local musician or DJ. Check the schedule to see who’s up next.
Rotating local food trucks bring a fresh menu to the terrace each week.
Enjoy a cash bar with Michigan craft beers, wine, cocktails, and non-alcoholic options. GRAM members receive a discount at the bar. Not a member yet? There’s no better time to join.
Each Thursday brings a unique activity, experience, or performance alongside the music, food and indoor exhibitions. Pop-ups, hands-on moments, and surprises — no two evenings are the same.
All current GRAM exhibitions are open and free with extended hours from 5 pm – 9 pm. Explore Decadent Spirit: French Art at the Turn of the Century, Jerry’s Map by Jerry Gretzinger, The Matter of Awe: Landscapes in Art, and much more.
Good to know
All events are free and open to everyone. Register online and make check-in a breeze.
Seating is first-come, first-served. Personal lawn chairs and seating not permitted. Grab a spot on the terrace and settle in for the evening.
In case of rain, the event moves indoors.
