About the Artwork
Carol Summers created woodblock prints of the landscapes and scenes he saw in his travels across the world. Summers based this peaceful scene on the tented homes of the Yuruk people of the Anatolia Peninsula.
In this work, Yuruk – Halley’s Comet, we see the welcoming glow from an open tent as a comet arcs through the velvety, deep blue sky with a rainbow-colored tail.
