Join us for a conversation with Grand Rapids-based artist Alfield Reeves exploring the stories, people, and creative process behind the large-scale ArtPrize entry, In Case You Didn’t Know.
Enjoy a closer look at the installation, engage directly with the artist and many of the individuals represented in the work, and take the opportunity to ask questions following the conversation.
This is a free event. Arrive early to explore the museum before the conversation. Registration is encouraged.

About the Artist
Alfield Reeves is an award-winning editorial, portrait, and fine art photographer based in Grand Rapids. Originally from Liberia, West Africa, he creates images that encourage self-reflection and expression while highlighting the identity and culture of the communities he photographs. His work — often described as warm, quiet, and bold — moves between portraiture, photojournalism, and fashion.
