CANCELLED: Building a Culture of Thinking in Classrooms and Schools: Stuff You Can Use on Monday
Wednesday, Apr 16, 2025
8:30 am — 3:30 pm
UPDATE: This event has been cancelled, and will be offered again the 2025 – 2026 school year.
This workshop will show teachers, principals, and support staff how to create a culture of thinking in their classrooms and schools. During this educator professional development session, participants will explore:
Effective ways to deepen student learning through reexamining the nature of student and teacher talk.
An introduction to “thinking routines” that can be immediately used in the classroom with students and staff.
How to make learning that “sticks” and meets state standards through meaningful experiences and imagination.
Become more aware of how creating a classroom environment that is cognitively, emotionally and socially engaging is a process and a way of experiencing and contributing to the world. Attendees will participate in a variety of experiences, see the concepts demonstrated in various classrooms, and receive handouts that can be followed up after the workshop.
